Classic Tuna Salad


Ingredients:

  • 2 (5 oz) cans solid white albacore tuna, drained well
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • ⅓ cup finely diced celery
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion
  • ¼ cup grated sweet apple
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tuna:
    Drain the tuna thoroughly in a fine-mesh strainer.

  2. Make the Dressing:
    In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.

  3. Add Vegetables & Herbs:
    Add the finely diced celery, red onion, grated apple, chopped dill, and parsley to the mayo mixture.

  4. Combine the Tuna:
    Gently fold in the drained tuna until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

  5. Taste and Adjust:
    Taste the tuna salad and adjust the seasonings as needed.

  6. Chill:
    Chill for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.


Notes:

  • For best results, chill the ingredients before mixing to enhance the flavor.
  • This salad can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
