Ingredients:
- 1 pound linguine pasta (or fettuccine, spaghetti, etc.)
- 1/2 to 1 1/2 tablespoons red pepper flakes (amount depends on how spicy you want it)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup toasted sesame oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili paste
- 6 tablespoons soy sauce
- 6 tablespoons honey
- Scallions, carrots, peanuts, cilantro, Sriracha, and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
- Chop the garnishes and set aside.
- Boil the pasta according to package directions and drain.
- While the pasta is boiling, heat the oils in a large skillet with the red pepper flakes.
- Once the oil is hot, strain out the red pepper flakes, reserving the oil in a bowl. Add the reserved oil back into the skillet and add the chili paste. Whisk in the soy sauce and honey.
- Toss the pasta in the skillet with the sauce.
- Serve hot, room temperature, or cold. Top with garnishes and enjoy!
Notes:
- The amount of red pepper flakes you use depends on how spicy you want the dish to be. Start with 1/2 tablespoon and add more to taste.
- You can use any type of pasta you like for this recipe.
- If you don't have toasted sesame oil, you can use regular sesame oil or another type of cooking oil.
- If you want to make the dish vegetarian, omit the peanuts and Sriracha.
- Serve with a side of rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
Enjoy!
