Ingredients:
- 3 cups chopped strawberries
- 4 serrano peppers, diced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
- Combine all of the ingredients in a large pot.
- Heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the strawberries soften and begin to break down.
- Let the mixture cool slightly.
- Process the mixture in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- Spread the mixture onto dehydrator sheets in a ¼-inch thick layer.
- Dehydrate at 130°F for 6-8 hours, or until the fruit leather peels away from the tray easily.
- Flip the fruit leather and continue dehydrating for another 2 hours, or until it is completely dry and there are no moist spots left.
- Let the fruit leather cool down a bit, then roll it up.
- Enjoy your fruit leather immediately, or wrap it in plastic wrap and store it in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Notes:
- Makes 3 large fruit leathers.
- You can adjust the amount of serrano peppers to taste.
- If you don't have a dehydrator, you can dry the fruit leather in a low oven set at 200°F for 6-8 hours, or until it is completely dry.
Enjoy!
