Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) strawberries, rinsed, hulled, and thickly sliced
- 1/3 cup (80 g) granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
Instructions:
- Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Bring to a boil: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer for 20-23 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Cool: Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools and even more with refrigeration.
Serving suggestion: Serve this strawberry sauce over pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or as a topping for cakes and desserts.
