Ingredients:
- 1 block of halloumi cheese (around 225 g / ~8 oz)
Instructions:
Slice the Halloumi
Cut the block of halloumi into slices, aiming for about half a centimetre thick. If you'd like to mimic grill lines, you can use a grill pan for this step.Heat the Pan
Place a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Arrange the halloumi slices in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.Cook the Halloumi
Allow the cheese to cook for a few minutes without moving it. It will release some liquid, which will evaporate as it cooks. Once the liquid has disappeared, the underside of the cheese will turn golden brown fairly quickly.Flip the Cheese
Once the first side is golden and crispy to your liking, turn the halloumi slices over and cook the other side. The second side will brown more quickly as the cheese has already released its liquid.Serve Immediately
Fried halloumi is best enjoyed right away while it's hot and crispy.
