Custard Yogurt Toast


Ingredients:

  • 2-3 slices of soft bread (depending on size and thickness)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 2-3 teaspoons maple syrup or honey

Toppings:

  • Handful of fresh raspberries
  • 10g dark chocolate chips
  • Optional: drizzle of maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer or oven to 180°C/350°F.

  2. Prepare Custard Mixture:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, Greek yogurt, and maple syrup (or honey) to form a liquid custard.
  3. Prepare Bread:

    • Using your fingers or the back of a spoon/fork, press into the center of each bread slice to indent and create a well without cutting through.
  4. Add Custard and Toppings:

    • Spoon the custard mixture into the indented wells on the bread slices.
    • Top with fresh raspberries and dark chocolate chips.
  5. Cooking Method:

    Air Fryer:

    • Place the prepared bread slices in the air fryer.
    • Cook at 180°C/350°F for 4-5 minutes until the custard is set and starting to caramelize on the edges.

    Oven:

    • Place the prepared bread slices on an oven tray lined with baking paper.
    • Bake at 180°C/350°F for 8-12 minutes, depending on your oven strength, until the custard is set and starting to caramelize on the edges.
  6. Serve:

    • Once cooked, serve the Custard Yogurt Toast warm.
    • Optionally, drizzle with a bit more maple syrup before serving.

Notes:

  • The custard mixture can accommodate between 2-3 slices of bread, depending on their size and thickness.
  • Nutritional information is based on using 2 slices of bread.
