Homemade Banana Matcha Smoothie


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (non-fat, plain)
  • 1/2 cup milk (2%)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 medium banana, frozen

Instructions:

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender:

    • Put Greek yogurt, milk, matcha powder, and frozen banana into the blender. Follow the order recommended by your blender’s manufacturer.
  2. Blend:

    • Blend until the banana is fully smooth and the matcha powder is completely mixed in (about 1 minute). Use the smoothie button if available.
  3. Garnish (Optional):

    • Garnish with banana slices and a sprinkle of matcha powder on top if desired.

Notes:

  • Banana Substitute: If you don’t have a frozen banana, use a ripe banana and add a few ice cubes. Use only ripe bananas for sweetness; green bananas can be bitter.
  • Banana Preparation: Freeze over-ripe bananas in chunks for future smoothies.
  • Consistency Adjustment: Add more milk to thin the smoothie or more yogurt to thicken it. Using Greek yogurt with higher milkfat will also make it thicker.
  • Blender Tips: For the best blending, follow the recommended order for your blender. For a Ninja personal blender, place soft and liquid ingredients first, followed by powders and solids.
  • Serving: Drink immediately for the best flavor and texture.
