Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Jam


Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry dough
  • 1 wheel of French Brie
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 teaspoons chili crisp
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1 pear, sliced
  • Tangerines
  • Storebought or homemade crackers
  • Honey, for drizzling

Optional additions:

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare filling: In a small bowl, combine strawberry preserves and chili crisp.
  3. Assemble pastry: On a parchment-lined baking sheet, roll out puff pastry. Place Brie in the center and top with strawberry preserve mixture.
  4. Fold pastry: Carefully fold puff pastry over Brie. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with flaky sea salt (optional).
  5. Bake: Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with sliced apple, pear, tangerines, crackers, and honey.

Optional additions:

  • For extra flavor: Add chopped walnuts or almonds, grated Parmesan cheese, ground cinnamon, or ground nutmeg to the strawberry preserve mixture.
  • For a spicier kick: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the strawberry preserve mixture.
  • For a sweeter taste: Add a teaspoon of honey or agave nectar to the strawberry preserve mixture.
