Dump this magic sauce over raw chicken in casserole


Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
  • Sesame seeds or green onions for garnish

Optional additions:

  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Make sweet chili sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together warm water, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, minced garlic, crushed red pepper, Sriracha, and salt.
  3. Combine chicken and sauce: In a casserole dish, combine chicken with sweet chili sauce.
  4. Bake: Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. For extra color, broil for a few minutes at the end.
  5. Serve: Serve with cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, cilantro (if using), and toasted sesame oil (if using).

Optional additions:

  • For extra flavor: Add chopped cilantro or green onions to the dish.
  • For a richer sauce: Add a tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter to the sweet chili sauce.
  • For a spicier kick: Increase the amount of crushed red pepper or Sriracha sauce.
