Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon crushed garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 small green chili pepper, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions:
- Marinate Chicken: Combine chicken, egg white, garlic, soy sauce, white pepper, black pepper, salt, baking soda, and sesame oil in a bowl. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat Chicken: Dredge marinated chicken in a mixture of cornstarch and flour.
- Fry Chicken: Heat oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Make Sauce: Combine honey, soy sauce, ginger, chili pepper, rice vinegar, and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Toss fried chicken in the honey garlic sauce to coat.
- Serve: Serve immediately with rice or noodles.
