Ingredients:
- Potato
- 1/2 kg (1 pound) potatoes
- 45 g (1.6 ounces) cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Beef Patty
- 400 g (14 ounces) ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Final Parts
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 100 g (3.5 ounces) all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 150 g (5.3 ounces) bread crumbs
- Cooking oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Potato:
- Cut each potato into 8 parts.
- Fry the potatoes in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Place the fried potatoes in a bowl and mash until smooth.
- Add the cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the mashed potatoes and mix until well combined.
- Beef Patty:
- Mix the ground beef with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Divide the ground beef mixture into 4 equal parts.
- Shape each portion into a patty.
- Fry the beef patties in hot oil until cooked through and slightly browned on both sides.
- Beef Potato Croquettes:
- Divide the mashed potato mixture into 4 equal parts.
- Flatten each portion into a ½ cm (1/4 inch) thick disk.
- Place a beef patty and a slice of mozzarella cheese in the center of each disk.
- Wrap the mashed potato mixture around the beef patty and mozzarella cheese to form a croquette.
- Repeat steps 4-6 with the remaining mashed potato mixture and beef patties.
- Coating and Frying:
- Dredge each croquette in flour, then egg wash, and finally bread crumbs.
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pan or deep fryer to 170°C (340°F).
- Fry the croquettes in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Serving:
- Drain the croquettes on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve immediately with ketchup and mayonnaise.
