Ingredients:
- 1 tube Pillsbury biscuits (8 count)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Use a melon baller or round cookie cutter to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit.
- Carefully add the biscuits to the hot oil, frying four at a time. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the biscuits from the oil and immediately toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Repeat steps 4-5 with the remaining biscuits.
- Serve the donuts warm and enjoy!
Tips:
- To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of dough into the oil. If the dough sizzles and immediately floats to the top, the oil is ready.
- Be careful not to overcrowd the pan when frying the donuts. This will lower the temperature of the oil and make the donuts greasy.
- If you don't have a melon baller or round cookie cutter, you can use a knife to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit.
- If you want to make glazed donuts, simply dip the fried donuts in a glaze of your choice. To make a simple glaze, combine 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth.
