Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls, split
  • 1 pound sliced deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Cook and stir the onion in the melted butter until softened, about 5-10 minutes. Add the mustard, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir for another 5 minutes.
  3. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, arrange the roll bottoms. Spoon 2/3 of the onion mixture over the rolls. Add a slice of ham and cheese to each roll.
  4. Place the roll tops over the cheese layer and brush the remaining onion mixture over the tops.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the roll tops are lightly browned.
