### Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 garlic cloves, minced (or 4 teaspoons minced garlic)
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, shelled and deveined (tails off)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 12 ounces linguine
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
### Instructions:
1. **Cook Linguine:**
- Cook linguine according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
2. **Prepare Shrimp:**
- While linguine is cooking, peel and devein the shrimp. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.
3. **Sauté Garlic and Prepare Sauce:**
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
4. **Make Sauce:**
- Add wine (or broth), crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and reserved pasta water to the skillet.
- Cook until the liquid is reduced by half, about 3-5 minutes.
5. **Cook Shrimp:**
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes on one side until just beginning to turn pink. Flip the shrimp.
6. **Finish Shrimp Scampi:**
- Simmer the shrimp in the sauce for another 1-2 minutes until they are cooked through and pink.
- Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and chopped parsley.
7. **Combine with Linguine:**
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss well with the shrimp and sauce until everything is evenly coated.
8. **Serve:**
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired, and with a side of crusty bread.
### Notes:
- If not serving with linguine, omit the reserved pasta water and reduce the butter and olive oil amounts as mentioned in the notes.
- For extra flavor, consider sautéing the shrimp shells in butter and olive oil before adding the garlic. This step is optional but adds depth to the dish.
- A squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the plated pasta just before serving enhances the flavors.
Enjoy your delicious Shrimp Scampi with Linguine!
