Steak Bites and Gnocchi

Ingredients:

Steak:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak or beef tenderloin, diced into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Gnocchi:

  • 2 pounds dried packaged gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Marinating the Steak:

    • Place diced steak into a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag or shallow bowl.
    • Add lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the steak thoroughly. Cover or seal and refrigerate for 1 to 8 hours to marinate.
  2. Preparing the Gnocchi:

    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cooking the Steak and Gnocchi:

    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Use tongs to add half of the marinated steak to the skillet, leaving the marinade behind. Cook the steak, stirring occasionally, until browned and seared. Remove the cooked steak from the skillet and set aside. Repeat with the remaining half of the steak, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet.
    • Return the previously cooked steak to the skillet.
  4. Final Steps:

    • Add butter and crushed garlic to the skillet with the steak. Let the garlic toast for about 1 minute.
    • Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gnocchi is lightly browned.
  5. Serving:

    • Serve hot, optionally sprinkling with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy your flavorful Steak and Gnocchi dish!
