Easy Scalloped Potatoes with Garlic, Thyme, and Parmesan cheese


Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 6 yellow potatoes, peeled and sliced into ⅛-inch thick slices
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ¼ cups Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves (removed from sprigs)
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Pan: Grease the bottom of a medium casserole pan with the melted butter.
  3. Layer Potatoes:
    • Spread ¼ of the sliced potatoes in an even layer on the bottom of the pan.
    • Sprinkle with ⅛ teaspoon of salt.
    • Top with 1 minced garlic clove, ¼ cup of shredded Parmesan cheese, and ¼ of the fresh thyme leaves.
    • Pour ¼ cup of heavy cream evenly over the potatoes.
  4. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process 3 more times, so you have a total of 4 layers of potatoes. For the top layer, use ½ cup of shredded Parmesan cheese (or more, if desired).
  5. Bake: Bake uncovered at 400°F (200°C) for about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown and bubbly.
