Quick and Easy Pizza Dough (Super Thin Crust)

Ingredients
(Metric / US Customary)
Pizza Dough:
• 500g (4 cups) strong white bread flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 7g (1 packet) fast-action yeast
• 1 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
• 350ml (1 1/2 cups) lukewarm water (you might not need all of it)

Pizza Toppings:
• 350g (1 1/2 cups) passata
• 250g (2 cups) grated mozzarella (or fresh mozzarella, or cheddar)
• 2 tsp oregano
• Black pepper to taste
• Additional toppings of choice (ham, peppers, onions, chicken, olives, mushrooms, tuna, pepperoni, sweetcorn, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C / 210°C fan / gas mark 8 / 450°F. Grease 4 large (12-inch) pizza trays with olive oil.
  2. Mix flour, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Add olive oil and gradually add water, stirring until it forms a dough (start with 300ml and add more if needed).
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces (or 8 for smaller pizzas). Roll out each piece to fit your pizza trays.
  5. Spread 4 tbsp passata over each pizza, leaving a thin border. Add cheese, oregano, black pepper, and any other toppings.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden and crispy.
  7. If the base is still a bit soggy, pop the pizza back in the oven for a few more minutes.

Notes:
• Use your preferred cheese: mozzarella, cheddar, or fresh torn mozzarella.
• For a thinner crust, knead for 5 minutes and don’t let the dough rise!
• Suitable for freezing.
