Garlic Herb Cheese Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/2 - 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh herbs (sage, oregano, basil, and thyme)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. Activate Yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. Mix Dough: Add eggs, 3 1/2 cups flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Add more flour if needed.
  3. Proof Dough: Cover the bowl and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare Filling: In a separate bowl, combine cheeses, herbs, and garlic.
  5. Shape the Bread: Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.
  6. Fill and Roll: Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long side. Cut the roll in half lengthwise. Twist the two halves together and coil into a circle.
  7. Bake: Place the coiled dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Enjoy your delicious, cheesy pull-apart bread!
