Overnight Everything Bagel Breadsticks


Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups (500 grams) bread flour
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 12 ounces water (room temperature or cold)

For the Topping:

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
    • Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms.
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 18-24 hours.
  2. Prepare the Topping:
    • In a small bowl, combine egg, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the Breadsticks:
    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 pieces.
    • Roll each piece into an 8-inch long breadstick.
    • Place breadsticks on prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  4. Brush and Top:
    • Brush breadsticks with the egg wash.
    • Sprinkle with the topping mixture.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Let cool slightly before serving.
