Peanut Butter Oats Recipe


Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 banana, sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients:

    • In a saucepan, add 1 cup rolled oats, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons peanut butter.
  2. Cook the Oats:

    • Pour in 2 cups water. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is absorbed and the oats are creamy.
  3. Serve:

    • Divide the oatmeal into bowls and top with sliced banana. Optionally, sprinkle with additional cinnamon and chia seeds. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup and add more peanut butter if desired.

Notes

  • Stirring: Stir the mixture while cooking to ensure a smooth, creamy consistency and to prevent the chia seeds from clumping.
  • Consistency Adjustments: For thinner oats, add an extra ¼ cup of milk or water after cooking.
  • Peanut Butter: Feel free to use any peanut butter or nut butter of your choice.
  • Spices: Experiment with a pinch of nutmeg or other spices for added flavor.
  • Banana Tip: For creamier oats, try adding ½ mashed banana while cooking.
