Two Ingredient Bagels

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
  • Bagel seasonings (everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds)
Optional additions:
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and yogurt. Turn dough out onto a board and knead for about 2 minutes.
  3. Shape bagels: Divide dough in half, then divide each half into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 5-6 inch long log and shape into a bagel, pinching ends together. Repeat with other half of dough.
  4. Prepare egg wash and toppings: In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk for egg wash. Prepare desired bagel seasonings.
  5. Brush and sprinkle: Brush bagels with egg wash and sprinkle with desired toppings.
  6. Bake: Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Optional additions:

  • For a sweeter taste: Add honey or maple syrup to the dough.
  • For extra flavor: Add ground cinnamon or ground cardamom to the dough.
  • For a richer texture: Add a tablespoon of melted butter to the egg wash.

Enjoy your delicious homemade bagels!
