Easy Halloween Cupcakes

Ingredients:

For the Cupcakes:

  • 1 box cake mix (your favorite flavor)
  • Ingredients required for cake mix (usually eggs and oil)
  • Orange food coloring

For the Frosting:

  • 1 container white frosting
  • Green food coloring

For the Decorations:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • Green gummy candies
  • Black decorating icing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare cupcakes: Prepare and bake cupcakes according to the cake mix instructions. Let cool completely.
  2. Tint frosting: Mix orange food coloring into the frosting until desired shade is reached.
  3. Frost cupcakes: Frost each cupcake with a thin layer of orange frosting.
  4. Decorate cupcakes:
    • Stem: Insert half a pretzel stick into the top of the cupcake.
    • Leaves: Place a green gummy candy leaf next to the stem.
    • Face: Use black decorating icing to draw a jack-o-lantern face on the cupcake.

Optional Additions:

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of pumpkin spice to the cake batter.
  • For a richer flavor, use a cream cheese frosting instead of standard buttercream.
  • For a more festive look, sprinkle with sprinkles or edible glitter.
