Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240g) plain whole-milk yogurt
- ¾ cup (150g) sugar
- Pinch of kosher or sea salt
- ¾ cup (180ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (250ml) brewed espresso, cooled to room temperature
- ¼ teaspoon finely ground coffee
- 1 tablespoon vanilla paste or scraped seeds from half a vanilla bean
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method:
- Prepare the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, sugar, salt, cream, brewed espresso, ground coffee, vanilla paste, and cinnamon until fully combined.
- Chill the Mixture:
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours to chill and allow the flavors to meld together.
- Churn the Yogurt:
Once chilled, transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Store:
Once the yogurt is churned to a smooth, frozen consistency, store it in an airtight container. It will keep in the freezer for up to one month.
Notes:
- Coffee Intensity: If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, you can adjust the amount of ground coffee added to the mix.
- Spice Variations: Feel free to skip the cinnamon and use any other spice you enjoy, such as cardamom or nutmeg, to personalize the flavor.
- Breakfast Idea: For a twist, you can serve the frozen yogurt with a sprinkle of oats or nuts to make it a breakfast treat!
This frozen yogurt offers a unique combination of creamy, sweet, and bitter flavors, ideal for coffee aficionados and anyone looking to enjoy a refreshing yet indulgent dessert.
