Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 small finely diced onion
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 jar (24 oz) pasta sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup prepared pesto
- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Minced fresh basil for garnishing (optional)
Instructions:
- Brown ground turkey, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and add pasta sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk ricotta cheese and pesto until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 13x9 baking pan.
- Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta pesto, and 1/3 of the meat sauce. Repeat layers three times, ending with meat sauce.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil.
- Bake at 375°F for 40-45 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lasagna noodles are tender.
- Let stand 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with minced basil if desired.
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, use homemade pasta sauce.
- You can substitute no-boil lasagna noodles with regular lasagna noodles that need to be cooked beforehand.
- To make this dish vegetarian, use ground beef or lentils instead of ground turkey.
