High Protein Egg White Oatmeal


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 large egg whites
Optional additions:
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen berries
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Grind oats: Place rolled oats in a blender or food processor and blitz into a rough powder, about 10 seconds.
  2. Cook oats: Transfer oats to a large microwave-safe serving bowl. Add water and stir to mix evenly. Microwave on high for 1 1/2-2 minutes, or until oats have absorbed the water.
  3. Add egg whites and optional ingredients: Add egg whites and optional ingredients like brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, nuts, seeds, berries, or vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  4. Microwave (optional): If desired for extra safety, microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Serve: Serve warm, topped with your favorite oatmeal toppings.

Optional additions:

  • For extra flavor: Add chopped nuts, seeds, berries, cinnamon, or nutmeg.
  • For added sweetness: Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  • For a richer texture: Add a dollop of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese.
