  • 3 tbsp spicy brown mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Parker House Rolls:

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Whisk in egg and salt. Add 2 cups flour and stir until shaggy.

  3. Mix in softened butter until fully incorporated.

  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface, adding ½ cup flour at a time while kneading 1–2 minutes until smooth and pliable.

  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 30–45 minutes or until doubled.

  6. Roll dough into a ¼" thick rectangle. Slice into 4 long strips. Stack two strips on top of each other, forming two double-layered strips. Roll each out to ½" thick and cut into 2" wide rolls. Pinch one end together like a pocketbook.

  7. Arrange in a buttered 13” baking dish. Cover and rise 20–30 more minutes.

  8. Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush rolls with melted butter or egg wash.

  9. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden. Be careful not to overbake.

  10. Mix melted butter and honey, then brush onto warm rolls.

2️⃣ Make the Chicken Nuggets:

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken with kefir and pickle juice. Cover and chill for 20–40 minutes.

  2. In a ziplock bag, combine flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Stir beaten egg into chicken mixture.

  4. Use a slotted spoon to transfer chicken (without excess liquid) to the flour bag. Shake to coat well.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

  6. Fry chicken in small batches for 4–6 minutes until golden and cooked through.

  7. Transfer to a wire rack lined with parchment paper.

3️⃣ Make the Sauce:

Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste. Chill until ready to serve.

4️⃣ Assemble the Sliders:

Slice the Parker House rolls. Add a few warm chicken nuggets and drizzle with sauce or serve it on the side for dipping. Enjoy immediately!

💡 Pro Tips

  • Let your dough rest in a warm, draft-free place to rise quickly.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying or the nuggets won’t get crispy.

  • Use day-old kefir or buttermilk for extra tender chicken.

  • Add a dash of hot sauce to the nugget batter or dipping sauce for a kick.

🥂 Perfect Pairings

  • Sweet potato fries or waffle fries

  • Tangy coleslaw

  • Iced tea, lemonade, or a peach soda
