-
8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated

👩🍳 Instructions
-
Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly dust it with flour. -
Roll Out the Pastry
Place 1 thawed puff pastry sheet on the prepared pan. Gently roll it out to about ¼-inch thick.📝 Note: You can double the recipe by using two sheets of pastry. In that case, repeat the filling process with both sheets.
-
Add the Filling
On half of the pastry sheet, spread the softened cream cheese evenly. Top with:-
Sliced jalapeños
-
Half of the grated cheddar
-
Chopped bacon
-
-
Seal & Slice
Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling. Gently press to seal.
Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice into ½-inch wide strips. -
Twist & Arrange
Twist each strip and place them spaced apart on the baking sheet. -
Egg Wash & Cheese
Brush each twist with the beaten egg, then sprinkle the tops with the remaining cheddar. -
Bake
Bake on the middle rack for 15–20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. They're done when deep golden brown. -
Cool & Serve
Let cool for 5–10 minutes. Serve warm with ranch dressing on the side.
🔥 Pro Tips
-
For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in.
-
Too spicy? Swap jalapeños with thin-sliced sweet peppers.
-
Use flavored cream cheese (like chive or garlic) for an extra flavor boost.
🍻 Perfect Pairings
-
Cold beer or sparkling water
-
Crisp salad with ranch dressing
-
Deviled eggs or slider platters for parties
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Pastry too cold or too warm: Let it thaw just enough to roll without cracking, but not so much it turns sticky.
-
Overfilling: Keep fillings evenly distributed to avoid leaks while baking.
-
Skipping the egg wash: It gives that gorgeous golden finish!
