🍞 Stuffed French Toast Bites (Nutella & Cookie Butter)
Golden-crisp on the outside, soft and melty on the inside — these bite-sized French toast sandwiches are sweet, nostalgic, and dangerously snackable.
🛒 Ingredients
For the Sandwiches:
-
8 slices thick white bread or brioche
-
4 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
-
4 tbsp cookie butter (like Biscoff)
-
3 tbsp butter, for pan-frying
French Toast Batter:
-
⅓ cup heavy cream
-
2 eggs
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
-
¼ cup granulated sugar
-
1 tbsp cinnamon
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Sandwiches
Spread a thin layer of Nutella or cookie butter onto one slice of bread.
Top with another slice to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining slices.
🔁 Alternate between Nutella and cookie butter sandwiches to get both flavors in each batch.
2. Trim & Slice
Using a serrated knife, gently cut off the crusts (this keeps the bites tidy and easy to seal).
Then, cut each sandwich into 4 equal squares.
3. Make the Batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Toast the Bites
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Add butter and let it melt.
Dip a few bites into the batter at a time, making sure they’re fully coated but not soaked through.
Transfer them to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.
5. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
While warm, toss the French toast bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
📝 Tips & Notes
-
Don’t overfill! A light spread of Nutella or cookie butter prevents leakage during cooking.
-
Non-stick is best for catching any oozy goodness and easy flipping.
-
Serve with warm maple syrup, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar for extra indulgence.
