Ingredients:
Main dish:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (8-ounce) bottle Parmesan peppercorn dressing, divided
Side dish:
- 1 (12-ounce) package classic salad mix
- 2 apples, chopped (preferably a sweet, crisp variety)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette
Instructions:
Main dish:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Cook ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly. Drain and return to skillet. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Unroll pizza dough on a large greased rimmed baking sheet and press into a large rectangle. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
- Top with beef mixture, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese and drizzle with 1/4 cup dressing.
- Starting at one long side, roll up dough, pinching ends to seal. Arrange, seam side down, on baking sheet. Cut slits in dough at 1-inch intervals.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining dressing for dipping.
Side dish:
- Toss together all ingredients just before serving.
Tips:
- For a crispier crust, brush the top of the pizza roll with a little bit of milk or olive oil before baking.
- If you don't have Parmesan peppercorn dressing, you can use any other type of Italian dressing or vinaigrette.
- For a sweeter side dish, use honeycrisp or fuji apples. For a tartter side dish, use granny smith or gala apples.
- If you don't have balsamic vinaigrette, you can use any other type of vinaigrette or salad dressing.
