Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground sirloin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 medium onion, sliced
- 1 pear, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon gochujang or sambal oelek
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1 large head butter lettuce
- 1/2 cup julienned carrots
- 1/2 cup julienned red peppers
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add ground beef and salt. Break up the beef with a spoon and cook until browned and crispy.
- Sauté Vegetables: Add onion and pear to the skillet. Cook until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add Sauce: Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, sesame oil, black pepper, and gochujang in a small bowl. Pour over the beef and vegetable mixture. Stir to coat.
- Assemble Lettuce Wraps: Divide the beef mixture among lettuce leaves. Top with carrots, peppers, green onions, and sesame seeds.
