Thick Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups frozen fruit (such as bananas, strawberries, mangoes, pineapple)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened plant milk or liquid of choice (see note)
Optional add-ins:
  • Protein powder
  • Cocoa powder
  • Nut butter
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Pour ¼ cup plant milk (or any liquid of your choice) into the jug of a high-powered stand-up blender. A blender with a tamper works best to help mix frozen ingredients smoothly.

  2. Add Fruit & Extras: Add 2 cups of frozen fruit and any optional add-ins like protein powder, cocoa powder, nut butter, sweetener, or spices (such as vanilla or cinnamon).

  3. Blend: Blend everything until smooth, stopping the motor to scrape the sides and bottom of the blender as needed. If the mixture is too thick and your blender has trouble, add a little more plant milk (up to ⅓ cup total). The exact amount of liquid may depend on the fruit and blender you're using.

  4. Serve: Transfer the smoothie mixture to a bowl and top with your favorite toppings like fresh fruit, nuts, nut butter, or seeds.

Notes:

  • Frozen Fruit: It’s best to use frozen fruit in small, bite-sized pieces. If you can, use creamy fruits like bananas, mangoes, or peaches for a smooth texture. Frozen ripe bananas are ideal for smoothie bowls.
  • Liquid: Start with ¼ cup liquid and add more only if needed to help the blender process the frozen fruit. The choice of liquid (plant milk, coconut water, fruit juice, etc.) depends on your preferences.
  • Toppings: Feel free to get creative with your toppings to add extra texture and flavor!

This smoothie bowl is perfect for customization, so feel free to swap ingredients, add extras, and make it your own! Enjoy the creamy texture and fresh, fruity goodness.
